High-Intensity Pilates in Littleton: What to Expect at Erabelle
Updated: 1 day ago
A Different Kind of Pilates Is Coming to Littleton
If you love the controlled movement of Pilates but are looking for something with a little more intensity, High-Intensity Pilates may be exactly what you've been searching for.
At Erabelle, we're bringing High-Intensity Pilates to Littleton, Colorado as one of our two signature class formats alongside barre.
Our approach combines slow, controlled movement with resistance and intentional strength work to create a workout that is low impact while still challenging your muscles.
What Is High-Intensity Pilates?
High-Intensity Pilates takes inspiration from resistance-based Pilates and contemporary high-intensity, low-impact training.
Instead of moving quickly through exercises, expect intentional movements designed to keep your muscles working throughout class.
At Erabelle, classes will be performed on Sculptformer machines, giving instructors the ability to incorporate resistance, stability and a wide variety of movements into each workout.
The result is a class designed to challenge strength, endurance and control without relying on traditional high-impact movements.
Is High-Intensity Pilates the Same as Lagree?
No.
While people familiar with Lagree or Megaformer workouts may recognize similarities in the overall high-intensity, low-impact experience, Erabelle is not a Lagree studio and does not teach the Lagree Method.
Our High-Intensity Pilates classes are Erabelle's own programming and are performed on Sculptformer equipment rather than Megaformers.
If you already enjoy Lagree-style or resistance-based workouts, however, you may find that High-Intensity Pilates offers many of the qualities you enjoy: controlled movement, resistance, muscular endurance and a serious challenge.
What Is a Sculptformer?
The Sculptformer is the machine used for Erabelle's High-Intensity Pilates classes.
It features a moving carriage, springs and multiple points of resistance that allow our instructors to create dynamic, full-body workouts.
If you've previously taken classes on a Pilates reformer, Megaformer or similar resistance-based equipment, parts of the machine may look familiar. But every method and piece of equipment has its own characteristics.
We'll walk you through your Sculptformer before your first class, so no previous Pilates experience is required.
High-Intensity Doesn't Have to Mean High Impact
One of the reasons we love this style of training is that challenging doesn't have to mean jumping, running or moving as fast as possible.
Instead, intensity can come from resistance, control, time under tension and thoughtful movement.
And yes—you'll probably discover that moving slowly can feel surprisingly difficult.
High-Intensity Pilates + Barre Under One Roof
We created Erabelle because we didn't want our members to have to choose one style of movement.
Some days you may want the resistance and challenge of the Sculptformer. Other days, you may want the rhythm, functional strength and intentional movement of barre.
At Erabelle, you'll have access to both.
And because taking care of yourself has to actually fit into your life, we're also creating an on-site playroom during select classes, along with a private mothers room for those who need a space to nurse or pump.
