Barre Classes in Littleton: A Beginner's Guide to Erabelle Barre
Updated: 1 day ago
What Exactly Is Barre?
If you've never taken a barre class before, the name can make it sound more intimidating than it is.
You don't need to be a dancer. You don't need ballet experience. And you definitely don't need to know what you're doing before walking through the door.
At Erabelle, our signature barre classes combine classical barre technique, functional strength and intentional movement to create a full-body workout designed for a wide range of fitness backgrounds.
What Happens During a Barre Class?
While every class will vary, you can expect to work multiple areas of the body throughout your session.
Classes may incorporate the ballet barre along with equipment such as light weights, resistance bands, balls or sliders.
You'll move through intentional sequences designed to challenge strength, stability and control.
Some movements are small. Some are larger and more dynamic. And those tiny movements that don't look particularly difficult? You'll understand once you're doing them.
Do I Need Dance Experience?
Not at all.
Barre takes inspiration from ballet positioning and technique, but it is a fitness class—not a dance class.
Your instructor will guide you through the movements and offer cues throughout class. The goal isn't to perform. It's to move your body, build strength and leave feeling accomplished.
Signature Barre vs. Strength Barre
Erabelle will offer two primary barre experiences.
Signature Barre combines classical barre technique, functional strength and intentional movement in a full-body workout.
Strength Barre turns the intensity up by combining barre-inspired movement with additional functional strength work.
That gives you the ability to choose what your body needs that day — or build both into your routine.
Can I Combine Barre With Pilates?
Absolutely. In fact, that's one of the reasons Erabelle exists.
We love barre.
We also love High-Intensity Pilates.
Instead of asking our members to maintain memberships at multiple boutique fitness studios, we're bringing the two experiences together under one roof in Littleton.
You might take High-Intensity Pilates one day and barre the next, or discover that one becomes your favorite.
Barre Classes With a Playroom
For parents, finding a workout you love is sometimes only half the problem.
You also have to figure out what to do with your kids.
That's why Erabelle will offer an on-site playroom during select classes, helping remove one of the barriers that can make maintaining a fitness routine particularly difficult during motherhood.
We're also creating a private mothers room for nursing or pumping. These aren't extras we added as an afterthought. They're part of why Erabelle was created in the first place.
